The Chowan Arts Council is located underneath Swain Auditorium behind what is now called Swain School. Swain School was originally built in 1916 for the children of Edenton. The Auditorium was added in the early 1930's.

Swain Auditorium has much of the same details and asthetics as it did in the 1930's. Offering seating for 850 people, Chowan Arts Council events such as live music, theatre and other public performances are held in Swain Auditorium. The auditorium currently offers sound and lighting equipment.

Swain Auditorium is owned and operated by Chowan County. If you are interested in using the Auditorium for a function, please contact the County Manager's office at 252.482.8431.
